DIAMOND RIO - KOREA - FEBRUARY 2006
Diamond
Rio traveled to South Korea to perform and sign autographs at 5 US Army
Camps and the Kunsan Air Force Base. While in Korea they also visited
the Swedish and Swiss soldiers who are stationed at the DMZ protecting the
Korean boarder.
"Our trip to
Korea was the perfect example of being at the right place, at the right
time, for the right reason. We have lot of our brave soldiers standing
post on the border of North Korea who's leader is a crazy man with his hands
on the button. You can feel the tension by just being there.
With the press devoting so many stories and resources to the middle east,
these soldiers in Korea feel a little bit forgotten and isolated. It
felt great to bring a little bit of the "States" to them. Songs like
"One More Day" and "In God We Still Trust" took on a new and special meaning
for some of us in the band. I'd do this trip all over again in a
heartbeat." - Jimmy Olander, Diamond Rio

shake the hands of American soldiers and Marines, look them in the eye and
personally thank them for what they've done for my family.” - Lee Ann Womack

Aaron Tippin is
scheduled to travel to Afghanistan and Kuwait over the Thanksgiving Holidays
to boost the morale of our Operation Enduring Freedom troops.
“Those are the real workin’ men and women, and
if I can repay even an ounce of what they are doing for me, my family, and
my country by taking their mind off of the day-to-day risks…well, I can’t
think of a better thing to do with my time,” Aaron said earlier today. “They
have been fighting for the rights we take for granted every day, and I want
to make sure they know we’re thankful.”

KARRI TURNER
/ JIM McMAHON / KEVIN BUTLER - IRAQ - DECEMBER / JANUARY
Karri
Turner, Jim McMahon, Kevin Butler and Dave Price traveled to Iraq to “Ring in
the New Year” and show their support for our men and women serving in the
Armed Forces at the end of December in support of our
Operation Iraqi Freedom forces.
"This tour to Iraq had to be one of the best I've ever taken. We were able
to visit troops in out laying places that never get entertainment due to the
danger factor. It's weird to be thanked by service men and women for coming
over to see them when they've been deployed 2 and 3 times. These folks are
unbelievably brave and make me proud to be an American. We should all be so
lucky to have the chance to thank them, whether it's overseas, or when they
get home. I will never be the same after doing these tours.....never."
- Karri Turner
