Bo Bice Rocks Tennessee National Guard Enlisted Conference

NASHVILLE – Each year the Non-Commissioned officers and enlisted Soldiers and Airmen of the Tennessee National Guard come together for an annual conference.  In addition to workshops, business sessions, committee meetings, and guest speakers, the conference ends with a formal military banquet for members and guests.

This year’s banquet included a new twist.  Instead of an after dinner speaker, the group were entertained by a surprise guest.  Singer, songwriter Bo Bice of  American Idol fame treated some of America’s finest to a rousing one hour show.  Bo ran the gauntlet from soft ballad to kicking Southern Rock ‘n Roll, and the crowd loved it.

“Bo really connected with our Soldiers, Airmen and their families”, said Sgt 1st Class Randy Harris.  “This show, without doubt, caps one of the best conferences we have ever had.”

Bo also stayed around after the show to sign autographs, take photos and spend time getting to know the Guard members.

“Bo gained a lot of fans tonight,” said Betsy Redmond, Director of the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of Tennessee.  “He is an extraordinary entertainer who can certainly identify with our military members.

Bo Bice just returned from a Stars For Stripes tour entertaining soldiers in Afghanistan.
