MEDIA ADVISORY
You’re Invited to have a conversation with Chely Wright
SPRINGFIELD, VA – April 17, 2007 – Country singer and songwriter
Chely Wright will be performing at the 2007 SemperComm Gala
Thursday, May 10, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington,
VA. Wright is a major supporter of the U.S. military and has
been on four overseas U.S. military base tours in the last
four years. Her most recent was to Kuwait, Iraq and Germany,
performing six times in 12 days during late February and early
March of this year.
Wright has a brother who’s been an active-duty U.S. Marine for the
past 15 years. Her support for him –- and the U.S. Marines in
particular -- helped inspire her recent and very moving hit “The
Bumper of My S.U.V.”
As part of her time in the Washington area, Wright will be visiting
wounded U.S. military personnel receiving treatment at both the
National Naval Medical Center and Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Wright’s performance at the SemperComm Gala will help raise needed
funds to support the organization’s mission of providing
communications and entertainment equipment, software and services to
overseas remote U.S. military bases.
If your organization would like to schedule an interview with Wright
to discuss her career, her support for the military and her
performance at the SemperComm Gala, please contact Steve Rosa at
703.923.7612 or by e-mail at srosa@sempercomm.org.
