Chely Wright Visits The Pentagon
Appears on National Radio and International Television

Washington, DC –  Riding on the momentum of her #1 selling single, “Bumper of My SUV,” a tribute to our troops, Dualtone Recording artist Chely Wright just paid a visit to our nation’s capitol where her schedule was packed with meet and greets, high profile media interviews and even an evening of poker.

On the eve of her arrival in Washington, DC, Chely was a special guest on “The Jim Bohannon Show,” a nationally syndicated talk radio program, where she spoke about her new album The Metropolitan Hotel, her support of our military personnel and her tour.   After the live radio broadcast the show was inundated with phone calls from listeners requesting more information about Chely which sparked an immediate invitation from Mr. Bohannon for her to return in the near future.

Also during her visit Chely made two appearances where she signed autographs at the Quantico Main Exchange on the Quantico Marine Base and at Henderson Hall at the Pentagon.  She spent approximately three hours at each location visiting with military families and fans.

Chely was invited to the Mologne House on the campus of the Walter Reed Army Medical Center where she was asked to be the celebrity dealer at the USO of Metropolitan Washington’s first-ever Texas Hold ‘em Poker Tournament.  The USO of Metropolitan Washington (USO-Metro) organized the tournament for patients who are recovering from injuries sustained while serving in the war on terror.  The patients are staying with their families at Walter Reed’s Mologne House while receiving care at the medical center and Chely was honored to be part of their first poker tournament.  She had to be a quick study on dealing, but it was all just for fun and was a good diversion for the patients and their families.

A tour of the offices of the popular international military magazine Stars and Stripes was also on the singer’s agenda where she sat down for an in-depth interview about her career, her new release The Metropolitan Hotel and her involvement in organizations such as “America Supports You” and “Stars for Stripes” which support our troops. Chely also spoke with The Pentagon Channel, a network devoted to covering current events and delivering entertainment programs to all American military bases throughout the world.  The Pentagon Channel also filmed some of Chely’s previous activities that week including visits with the wounded at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Naval Medical Center at Bethesda.

In addition to her other interviews, Chely spoke with Armed Forces Press Services for a feature on their wire which provides content to American military bases internationally and a television program called “Your Corps” produced by Marines for Marines which airs on The Pentagon Channel.
