 
EZ SCORES TEAMS UP TO SUPPORT OUR TROOPS
EZ Scores
Joins “America Supports You” Campaign
MARYLAND, January 17, 2006— EZ Scores is teaming
up with “America Supports You” (ASY), an ongoing, nationwide
Department of Defense program to showcase and communicate America’s support
to the men and women of the armed forces. The Maryland based,
voice-activated sports information company will provide 2.5 million prepaid
calling cards for U.S. servicemembers in 2006.
Through the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes and in partnership with
Stars for Stripes, two grassroots ASY organization members, EZ Scores will
provide calling cards that allow users to access live scores for college and
professional sports from any phone at any time.
EZ Scores Chief Executive Officer, Christopher O’Donnell said, “The calling
cards offer servicemembers a chance to reconnect with their favorite NASCAR,
baseball, football, hockey, and basketball athletes—a welcome break from the
demands of their work. It’s our way of saying thank you to the troops.”
The prepaid cards, which are good for 400 calls, can be accessed from any
phone and provide a 10-second advertisement before the scores are given. EZ
Scores will donate 10 percent of all ad revenue from the cards back to the
participating non-profit ASY partners; Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes
and Stars for Stripes; and will play ASY public service announcements in
some of the advertising slots.
“We are so pleased that EZ Scores has decided to join the America
Supports You Program,” said Allison Barber, Deputy Assistant Secretary
of Defense for Public Affairs. “Their support brings a tremendous morale
boost for those who are serving overseas and helps bring them a little
closer to home.”
EZ Scores plans to continue to work directly with the Coalition to Salute
America’s Heroes and Stars for Stripes throughout 2006 and is
planning to continue its participation in ASY in the years ahead.
