MEDIA ADVISORY:
Karri Turner wants to talk to you
SPRINGFIELD, VA – May 2, 2007 – Actress Karri Turner, best known for
her role as “Lt. Harriet Sims” on the long-running television series
“JAG,” will be the mistress of ceremonies for the 2007 SemperComm
Gala May 10 in Arlington, VA. Among many other acting roles, Turner
has appeared this season on the NBC TV series “Heroes” and will
appear in the upcoming Steve Carell movie, “Get Smart,” scheduled
for 2008 release.
Turner is an active military supporter, having gone overseas to
perform at military bases in Iraq, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kuwait
and Korea. She completed her seventh tour overseas in December
2006. She has also been a frequent visitor at military hospitals
around the country,
including Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Naval
Medical Center. Her latest visit was in April, where she was
escorted by a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient to visit other
wounded service members.
Turner’s role at the SemperComm Gala will help raise needed funds to
support the organization’s mission of providing communications and
entertainment equipment, software and services to overseas remote
U.S. military bases.
If your organization would like to schedule an interview with Turner
to discuss her career, her support for the military and her role at
the
SemperComm Gala, please contact Steve Rosa at 703.923.7612 or by
e-mail at srosa@sempercomm.org.
