LONESTAR Performs at AFMC Freedom's Call Tattoo
Event
Country band, LONESTAR, (www.lonestarnow.com)
performed at this years AFMC Freedom's Call Tattoo even at Wright
Patterson AFB, OH. Lonestar is no stranger to military events.
They traveled to Iraq in January 2009 to show their support of our
military and boost their morale.
Lonestar is known for their 19 top 10 hit singles, 10 of which
went to #1; "No News", "Amazed", "Smile", "I'm Already There" and
"My Front Porch Looking In" just to name a few.
This year's Tattoo events theme was "Defending Liberty....Home and
Abroad". As part of the backdrop, only for a few seconds,
locally nominated service heroes from the Miami Valley area
participated in the stitching ceremony, and the raising of the flag.
The
flag was flying near the World Trade Center in New York City on
Sept. 11, 2001, and was all but destroyed in the terrorist attacks.
It is being stitched back together while on a 50-state tour.
Stitches are added by military members, veterans, first responders
and a variety of community service heroes. Sponsored by the New York
Says Thank You Foundation, the flag will eventually be displayed at
the National 9/11 Museum to be built at the World Trade Center site.
