"OHS" Shipment Headed to Troops

The Charlie Daniels Band launched Operation Heartstrings, a plea to corporate America to help the dedicated men and women serving in the Armed Forces overseas combat the loneliness and isolation of service in the War on Terror by providing instruments, albums, DVDs, CD and DVD players.

Henry Juszkiewicz, Chairman and CEO of Gibson Guitar led the way in donations with a gift of 100 Gibson Guitars and 100 Operation Heartstrings t-shirts,  while Gravely/Ariens contributed the financial resources to purchase DVD players.  Additional donations included Gorilla and Pignose Amps and Guitars, Black Diamond Strings, Peavey Amps, Forks Drum Closet, Gretsch Electric Guitars, keyboards from Soundcheck/Nashville, Rapco International Cords, Shure Microphones, Vic Firth Drumsticks, Ernie Ball Guitar Picks, laptop computers from Bridgestone/Firestone, CD’s from Sony Nashville, DVDs/compact discs from Anderson Merchandisers, and keyboards from SIR Nashville.

All donations are on are now en route to Kuwait where they will be distributed throughout the military camps in Iraq and Afghanistan.
 

Please note:  Instruments will not be given to individuals.  They will be distributed to the remote camps and kept at those camps for the use of the troops as they rotate in and out of the area.  USAREUR will decide which camps will receive the instruments and handle the distribution.
