Apollo, Pennsylvania

Army Spc. Joshua Henry, 21, Avonmore, Pa.; killed after his convoy was attacked near Sharqat, Iraq; 1st Battalion, 7th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany.

"He was one of my best snipers, gung-ho all the time and always had a smile on his face...dedicated, determined, committed and a battle hardened warrior...Josh was a stud that will be missed by the so many hearts that he personally touched...he is now our recon eyes from above...Josh, you will never be forgotten!! You made the ultimate sacrifice...no mission too difficult, no sacrifice too great, Duty First!!" - Commander Kyle McClelland, U.S. Army

"The performance at Camp Summerall on September 19th was my second visit to the remote site in the past two months.   I specifically requested that we be allowed to perform at Camp Summerall again in September after having seen in July how much the soldiers stationed there needed the morale boost.  They are  on the "front lines" and have lost several soldiers since the war began.  Chely met SPC Henry in the autograph line after her performance.  She specifically remembered chatting with him because her mother's maiden name is also Henry.  One of her musicians from the Pennsylvania area also remembers talking with him about their hometowns.  Learning that he lost his life the day after our performance was very sobering for our entire group, especially when we realized we had met him.  I do know that he had a great time at the concert and was so excited to meet Chely and have his photo made with her.   I also know that his Commander -- Kyle McClelland -- loved him and treated him as though he were his own son.  Our hearts and prayers are with Josh's family and we share their grief in this tremendous loss." - Judy Seale, President / CEO, Stars for Stripes
