Aaron
Tippin was once again the featured entertainer at the
AUSA (Association of the U.S Army) Annual Conference in
Washington D.C. The
nonprofit organization “Stars for Stripes” provided entertainment
for the third consecutive year for the U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR)
“suite” at the conference. Aaron performed on Tuesday night,
October 9th, at the USAREUR Reception which is open
to all branches of the Army – active, National Guard, Reserves,
retirees, government civilians, family members and concerned
citizens.
Aaron rocked the crowd at
last year’s event, resulting in a request for a repeat
performance this year. Attendees were treated to a set filled
with Patriotic songs including “Where the Stars and Stripes and
the Eagles Fly” and “You’ve Got to Stand for Something”.
Immediately following the performance, Aaron signed autographs
for the attendees and spent time visiting with several of the
wounded heroes.
Prior
to his performance at
the AUSA Conference, Aaron spent the day visiting patients at
National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Aaron will
be participating in an “MWR / STARS FOR STRIPES” tour to the
Persian Gulf over the Holiday Season. This will be Aaron’s
third “MWR / STARS FOR STRIPES” Holiday tour spent entertaining
the troops supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation
Enduring Freedom. He also performed with the legendary Bob Hope
during the first Gulf War and visited troops in Afghanistan in
2002. While touring the U.S., Aaron regularly donates his time
performing for charities and special events which honor the U.S.
Military.
“Stars for Stripes” is a
nonprofit 501(C)3 organization dedicated to providing celebrity
entertainment to troops deployed to remote areas overseas. The
organization is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee.
