"Entertainment Is A Need Our Troops Have"
Almost everyone can remember some time of loneliness, some time of being far, far away from home and longing for friends and family.
We all remember times we have longed for familiarity, for something that would transport our minds and spirits to a place of safety and comfort and allow us to escape the fears that surround us.
The men and women who serve our nation have these longings and desires, and many of these can be satisfied by entertainment. Entertainment is a NEED our troops have, and a craving that deserves satisfaction. Here at home we can so easily flip a switch or press a button. Then, instantly, music is brought to our ears. It is not this way where some of our boys and girls are serving.
Many a celebrity has brightened the days of our military troops by making personal appearances before them. When the stars come out to perform for our defenders and protectors it takes them back home. It brings them something familiar. It transports them to a place of safety, comfort, and well being.
All of us know what a song can do to lift the spirits. It is extremely important that those of us at home do what we can to provide this for those who are serving our country on foreign soils. May God bless those of you who help in this wonderful cause.
