"The following poem"

The following poem was written by my 9-year old grandson

Joshua Cook, of Arlington, Virginia. He wrote this for a class contest and won first prize. I felt is worth sharing with all our brave "Soldiers"

Soldiers

Young men dressed the same
no wrinkles shoes shined
embarking a dangerous journey
some will take a shortcut to death
by trading their lives for their country
sacrifice civilian jobs and family time
so we remain free.
