"I am a U.S. Marine"
i am a u.s. marine;
a disabled combat vet from the iraq war. the weight on my heart is lifted when i see organizations like yours so selflessly supporting my brothers and i. thank you. in march 2003, as an infanty squad leader with rct1 (regimental combat team 1) i crossed the border into iraq in the freezing desert cold the morning the war started. from nasariyah to baghdad we fought as hard and as fast as we could, for freedom. i can't tell you how many nights our marines went hungry because of giving their food away to starving children. as friends and brothers died next to me and were carried away wounded we willingly trudged on through horrors and hardships i could never put into words and would prefer not to; but for freedom, for america...it is worth my life. every marine would agree. some gave a body part, some gave their life, and some their sanity. groups like yours makes marines like myself realize how much america cares...and that's exactly what keep!
